If this hasn‘t hit you yet, don‘t worry it will. Many of us struggle to understand God and his ways. That‘s why he says to “Trust in the Lord with all your heart, and do not lean on your own understanding. In all your ways acknowledge him, and he will make straight your paths.“ Proverbs 3:5-6 ESV. Let me help you move forward in your walk today, and understand that everything you do has a purpose. What do I mean by that? No matter what you do day to day for a living, or the people you encounter, when you are walking with God there is a purpose in everything. You may not see it, you may be frustrated with your career or the place you‘re in, but there is something he wants you to learn from it. So, take some time to pray and ask God “What is the purpose for this season in my life“. Acknowledge that this is the will he has for you, and while it doesn‘t make sense, God may be preparing you for the next season of your life that leads to his overall purpose for you. If this isn‘t resonating with you, then you may be resisting God‘s plan for your life. The best thing you can do is surrender to his will, and his way of doing things. In the book of Isaiah it says “ For my thoughts are not your thoughts, neither are your ways my ways, declares the Lord.” - Isaiah 55.
Thats why God wants us to spend more time with him, and get into his word, because his knowledge is infinite, while we are limited. So, if you truly want to be used by God, the first step is to surrender. What do I mean by this? When you accepted Jesus as your lord and savior, you were bought at a price (1 Peter 1:19). That means our lives are not our own. When we accepted Jesus into our hearts to be used by God, we are a new creation! Our minds are to be transformed as we part ways with our old life. What you’re being asked to do isn’t easy, in fact it may be the hardest thing you can do. To deny yourself and pick up your cross is the true definition of being used by God. Ultimately God cares about us, and what we want in life; however, we must align ourselves with his will. Have you ever driven a vehicle that had an alignment issue? If you have then you know it's a bumpy ride. Driving down the road isn’t as smooth as you’d like it to be, in fact it’s quite rough! That’s what it’s like to be out of alignment with God’s will for your life. So, make the decision today to surrender to God’s will, and allow him to do a work in your life.
